Peat-free rooftop planting
for Swedish meadow plants.
A rooftop growing project is being developed with Bee Urban at Vasakronan's Garnisonen property in Östermalm. Nordiczero contributes biochar to a growing system for bare-root plants from Sweden's meadow flora. The project began in May 2026.
- 01Peat-free substrate
Biochar is included in a mineral growing medium without peat.
- 02Nutrients at the roots
Biochar helps keep nutrients available close to the plants' roots.
- 03Bare-root delivery
Plants are lifted bare-root and their fine roots separated before delivery by bicycle.
No disposable pots
The plants are grown without plastic pots or peat and go directly from the rooftop growing site to their new meadow environment.

Peat-free growing, bare-root handling and local cargo-bike delivery come together in a circular growing process.
